Material numbers
The materials form is intended to give the administrator the option to generate and maintain the material basis which is used by the system.
This makes only sense if the SAP interface is not used because when using the SAP interface every time a material number is searched and selected the material data will be updated with the most recent data from the SAP system
The functionality of the table is like with all other tables: To delete a material number the respective row has to be selected and then the -icon has to be clicked. In the pop-up window the action has to be confirmed.
Same is true for editing material data: the respective row has to be selected and the the -icon has to be clicked. This opens up a pop-up window where all material data can be edited
The material number is a unique identifier within the system and can not be changed
MATERIAL NAME1 and MATERIAL NAME2 refer to the respective languages which can be assigned within the configuration settings.
To add a new material number, the -icon has to be clicked. This opens the same popo-up window like the EDIT function but in this case also the material number can be entered.
The systems checks the new material number before saving. If the material number is already available the system issues an error message since the material number must be a unique identifier.
Just to make this satement a second time: any material data will be overwritten with the SAP data by the system if the SAP interface is used.
